The Malaria Eradication Research Agenda (malERA) has launched a website (http://malera.tropika.net) described as a “stakeholder commons” which is intended to gather input and innovative ideas from scientists and implementers in defining the malaria research and development agenda for the long-term goal of eradication.

MalERA is a natural continuation of the Global Malaria Action Plan, launched in September 2008 by the Roll Back Malaria partnership. It consists of a consultative process that will culminate in the publication of a white paper proposing how current malaria research and development should change in order to meet the goal of global malaria eradication. The agenda will be developed from the work of seven consultative groups, which focus on different disciplinary sectors of malaria control, together with input received through the website, which has been developed in collaboration with TropIKA.net.

The site includes meeting summaries and background documents for review. The malaria community is encouraged to visit the malERA website and participate in the process by responding to key questions from the consultative meetings.
